Slings & Things: OTHER GEAR

GEAR

This is a lump of a segment heading, and it covers a whopping lot of stuff. Essentially, this is all about everything that’s not a sling, coat, or scope, and that’s a lot of things. As with the other topics, what’s in here is not only just from me and what I do. It’s what seems to work well for most shooters. As with the other segments, all budgets are considered.

"Other Gear" includes all the kit (and a good portion of caboodle) a High Power shooter takes along with him. Some of it is also about what needs to be left behind, and that might matter a lot to the lower back health of some.

Other Gear is also where you'll find sections and headings that detail both essential and optional items (and ideas) to get the most from the self. Things like shooting pants, sweatshirts, shoes, and, bang my inquisitive hide, even underwear. Hearing protection gets its space, as does the centerpiece of the High Power shooter's life -- The Shooting Stool.

MORE TOPICS:

KEEP GOING...

GEAR
Thoughts on needs, efficiency, and catastrophe all combine in deciding what to carry to a match. Here are mine, and also inputs from many others.

Also, whatever is not a coat or a glove gets covered over in discussions on apparel. Hearing protection explained, and recommended. Ammunition transport, and a separate package on how to move the whole works from one place to the next is included. Range carts too. Hats, mats, pads, tools, utensils, gadgets, and even a place to put your pills gets photographed and talked about. There is a ton of stuff in this segment, and you're bound to see a trick or two worth trying.

Essentials like ammunition holders, and carriers. Shooting mats. They're not all the same, and the right one matters.
Boots, pants, specialty clothing, and just plain old stuff applied to shooting. Some works better than others, and here's where you'll see when and why.

Shooting stools inside and outside, and tools, spares, and storage.

Adjunct necessities, and more funny hats than you can shake a stick at.
